Hello friends!
As you can imagine, I’m just about bursting with excitement about the upcoming month I’m about to spend in Sorrento, Italy studying la bella lingua! For those of you who have somehow managed to have been spared the details (seems impossible given it’s all i’ve talked about for the past three weeks), I depart Sydney tomorrow and arrive in Rome mid-morning on Sunday 6th May. A few trains and hours later i’ll pull into Sorrento and make my way to the home of my host family whom i’m told consists of nonna, her daughter, and her daughter’s two daughters – yep, three generations of women, and me. Sound familiar?!
My Italian language school begins on Monday morning and I simply can’t wait.I hope to keep you updated regularly with my adventures on and around the Amalfi Coast, so to ‘follow’ me, type your email into the box as specified to the right.
I’ll miss you all, but am so thrilled to have this opportunity to return to my favourite place on earth and really feel what it’s like to live and breathe the Italian culture.
So, arrivederci Sydney and your cold weather! See you in a month.
Lauren
PS Happy Birthday Nan! I will think of you and the amazing time we spent in Amalfi a few years ago, as I float on my back in the Mediterranean and stare up at the cliffs of that special coast xxx
